Set in a large wooden house back off the river, Kangkhong Villa is the best option in town for an old-style wooden place that dose not blow your budget. Rooms are well-sized and well-furnished, with nice built-in shelves and charming woodwork throughout. Try for an upstairs room though as the downstairs ones are a bit dark and cellar-like. The deluxe doubles are pricier because they have two windows. Air-con rooms are also available. A sitting area upstairs lets you survey the spacious gardens and the distant river.
